I’m thrilled to announce that A SPLENDID DEFIANCE has been honoured with a B.R.A.G. Medallion – an award given by readers and only achieved by 20/25% of the books submitted. Never having offered my work for consideration before, this is my very first B.R.A.G. Medallion and is therefore particularly exciting!
Pleased to find out that there is another Rockcliffe book on the way. From the title I’m guessing gambling or games of chance are involved. Looking forward to finding out!
Yes, Fiona – Hazard (Rockliffe #5) is progressing well I hope to put it on pre-order in January. As for what it’s about – sorry, but you’ll have to wait and see!
Congratulations, Stella. I have acquired copies of all your books, but years ago I bought a second copy of “Defiance” when I spotted it on a bookstall, just in case I failed to get my copy back. I had loaned it to a friend, who did return it, but it was so good to have a backup! I often pick it up and re-read, when I’m tired of other, less interesting books by other authors. Because Justin has cameos in 2 of your other R & C books I really never think of it as a standalone. Not like “Marigold Chain”.
Thanks, Margo. As for the Justin ‘cameos’ I just couldn’t resist them.
Congratulations! Excellent news, A Splendid Defiance has long been a favourite book of mine, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read it.
Thank you, Shelagh.
This is so well deserved, Stella. I am so pleased for you. Having recently listened to A Splendid Defiance and re-read it at the same time, I was struck again by the richness of the historical background, the vivid characterisation and the delightful love story. While I read fairly widely in crime, thriller, historical and romantic fiction, I always come back to your books when I need to feel uplifted and nourished. They all bring me pure joy! Thank you so much for coming back to writing.
Such kind remarks, Jill – thank you. With regard to the audio, Alex really has done a Splendid job, hasn’t he? Truly, the guy is unbelievably talented – and a delight to work with. We have dates scheduled for The Marigold Chain and would expect it to be released in January. Meanwhile, I’m roughly two-thirds of the way through Rockliffe Five – Hazard.
Hi, Stella – Having sent my comment yesterday, I had a quick look, discovered 1 copy and couldn’t resist. So I’m running 2 hours late this morning! And left it at home – out of reach. “Defiance” embodies just what I like about your writing – the style, dialogue, structure, humour and feeling. The deft touches that describe your characters. Good news re Rockliffe Five too! I have all sorts of thoughts about the surprises you may have in store for your devoted readers.
Thank you, Margo. As I’m sure I’ve told you before, Defiance is particularly close to my heart. It was a privilege to tell the story of some of the unknown heroes that history has all but forgotten.
